GET RIPPED with 3 Weird Tricks!

First off, yesterday Vince Del Monte re-opened the doors to his
Maximize Your Muscle program (which has been closed for the
last 4 months), and until Thursday at midnight, with your permission,
he's allowing you try out Phase 1 of his system for… get ready
for this...

ONE BUCK!!!

That's correct, you can reread that, it's no typo.  ONE silly dollar.

Okay, here's today's article:

===========
3 Weird Ways To Ignite NEW Muscle, Skyrocket
Your Metabolism & Incinerate Fat

By Vince Del Monte - YOUR AFFILIATE ID
===========

Weird Way #1:

Unstable Surface Training to Activate the Nervous System

The reason it works: unstable training can increase muscle activation due to increased demand on the neuromuscular system in order to stabilize the articulation of joints caused by an unstable surface used as the base of support.

How to make it work:

Unstable training (such as performing a pushup with your hands on a stability ball or 2 medicine balls) does result in a decrease in force production, which prevents maximum motor unit recruitment. However, unstable surfaces do "wake up" the nervous system and its best application is to perform these exercises prior to the real strength training exercises.

Methods you can experiment with:

You don't have to use an unstable exercise for every body part or exercise, but it can be excellent for a stubborn muscle group. A stubborn muscle group is often a result of the lack of activation of the CNS, thus using an unstable exercise could fix the problem. Let's use for example push-ups on a medicine ball or stability ball superset with a DB chest press. The superset method is best practice and should be used earlier in the workout as unstable surface exercises are fatiguing. Another example, squats on a BOSU ball followed by barbell squats.

Other details: you don't always have to be on an unstable surface to "wake up" the nervous system. You can perform exercises on 1 foot, with your eyes closed; or create a situation where your base of support is limited.

Weird Way #2:

Heavy Lifting Cycles

The reason it works: muscle damage, activation of the high threshold muscle fibers (growth fibers), potentiation of the nervous system; which means when you get back to Heavy Lifting Cycles

The reason it works: muscle damage, activation of the high threshold muscle fibers (growth fibers), potentiation of the nervous system; which means when you get back to your normal bodybuilding routine you will be able to recruit more muscle fibers for the same exercise.

How to make it work: use every means in your power to increase your maximal strength, power and explosiveness. Dedicate a period of time each year to this style of training – it’s in my experience that after a period of focused heavy lifting, your gains from the subsequent program are always far superior.

Methods you can experiment with: regular sets in the 2-4 and 4-6 rep ranges, rest-pause sets (multiple mini-sets of heavy weight using 90% of your max weight taking only 10-seconds rest between reps), wave loading (1 x 5, 1 x 4, 1 x 3, 1 x 5, 1 x 4, 1 x 3), contrast loading (1 x 1, 1 x 5, 1 x 1, 1 x 5, 1 x 1, 1 x 5).

Other details: longer rest intervals of 2-3 minutes in between sets are required during heavy lifting phases.

Untapped Target 3:

Volume Lifting

The reason it works: cumulative fatigue, hormonal production, and achieves a good pump. If you understand the importance of pre and post workout nutrition, jamming your muscles with workout drinks that include dextrose and amino acids, then guess what? Increase blood flow to a specific muscle will increase the amount of aminos being pumped into that muscle and it will significantly increase amino uptake. This means a much more anabolic (muscle building) response to your workout.

How to make it work: maximize the pump as well as muscle fatigue.

Methods you can experiment with: regular sets in the 8-10, 10-12 and 12-15 rep ranges, drop sets, pre-fatigue (super set isolation plus multi-joint), post fatigue (superset multi-joint plus isolation), giant sets (3 sets in a row for the same muscle group), slow reps ( 6 seconds up, 6 seconds down), "burns" (partial reps added at the end of a regular set).

Other details: 30-60 seconds between sets (or less). Do not chase after a pump in each set. Strategically place it at the end of each workout for your very last set and this will greatly increase the rate of muscle gain.

The Best Fat Loss Exercise?

There is no single best fat loss exercise. Instead, you must have a list full of effective fat loss exercises, mainly exercises that focus on compound movements. This list will eliminate boredom and physical staleness from repeating the same fat burning exercises over and over again. Plus you will always keep your body guessing which helps ensure that you won’t plateau and will prevent overuse injuries.

That being said, I do have a favorite fat burning exercise. Not only is this exercise a great fat burner, but it can also be done anywhere! When this exercise is done properly, a few minutes of this exercise can burn as many calories as jogging at a steady pace for an entire boring hour!

Let me introduce you to the Advanced Burpee! The Advanced Burpee can be broken down into 4 steps. Please remember when performing this exercise that form is more important than speed. Make sure you take things slowly at first until you have sound form.
  1. Stand as if you were going to perform a body weight squat. Squat down, keeping your lower back straight and put your hands on the ground in front of your feet as if you were a frog about to jump to the next lily pad.

  2. Kick your feet back to bring yourself to a push-up position.

  3. Perform a push-up.

  4. At the top of the push-up thrust your legs back up into the squat position (‘frog’ position) with your hands still on the floor.

  5. Finish by jumping up in the air with your arms straight up, as if you wanted to touch the sky. Once you’ve landed, quickly drop back down into the ‘frog’ position (step 1) and continue to do the exercise for the allotted time or # of repetitions.

Since the Advanced Burpee can be done anywhere, I use it as a complete workout when I’m traveling or when I don’t have time to make it to the gym.

The workout is rather simple: I set my stop watch to 5 minutes and do as many Advanced Burpees as I can in the allocated 5 minutes. I keep track of how many Advanced Burpees I do and try to improve on that number the next time I perform the workout.

Although there are a lot of different fat burning exercises out there, the Advanced Burpee is one of the most effective and one of my favorites!

The Number #1 Rule You Need to Lose Weight!

So what is the #1 rule you need to lose weight? First, let me tell you that it’s not some fat loss pill, colon cleanse or acai berry drink! Those items DO NOT WORK and are just a waste of your hard earned money!

The #1 rule of weight lose is:

Eat Less and Exercise More!

Pretty simple right? The formula for losing weight is really easy: If calories consumed is less than calories expended than you will lose weight! There’s no magic pills, cleanses or fruits needed! You just need to find good exercise and eating programs.

I've lost over 35lbs so far this year following this easy formula. For an exercise program, I'd highly recommend Turbulence Training. A great diet program is the Every Other Day Diet. If you hate dieting than try Eat Stop Eat.

Fat Burning Abdominal Circuit Workout

Most people think abdominal workouts require hundreds of sit-upsand crunches. The truth, however, is that they are just a waste ofyour time, and in some cases, may actually injure your low back.

If you really want 6-pack abs along with a sculpted body then themost efficient and effective way of achieving it is through totalbody exercises.

In this workout you will be performing nine total body exercises incircuit fashion. Therefore, each exercise will be performed back to back to back with no rest in between.

Start with kettlebell swings. These are 2-hand swings and you need to power up with the hips. Drive them back and power them back up.

Move immediately into extended pushups. Move your arms out in front of you as you lower yourself down and back up.

The next exercise is a stability ball pike. This is a more advanced version of the stability ball jackknife. Place your feet on theball and your hands on the floor and pull the ball in as you push your hips up until you are in a pike position. Try to get your hips as high up as possible. If you are not very flexible, just do jackknifes in place of them.

Move immediately into stability ball back extensions. Plant your feet against a wall or something stable. Your chest is supported by the ball. Place your hands behind your head and raise yourself upand back down.

Next is a 1-arm kettlebell swing. Make sure you are driving back with your hips and back up. If you are more advanced, you can do snatches in place of the swings. Do all reps on one side and then do all reps on the other side.

Next you will do high rep close grip pushups. Tuck your elbows into your sides with your hands closer together as you move down and back up. Do as many as you can.

Move immediately into stability ball leg curls. Place your feet onthe ball and bridge your hips up with your arms out to the side. Curl the ball in while keeping your hips up the entire time. Do 20 reps.

The next exercise is a stability ball rollout. Place the ball infront of you and start in an upright position, roll the ball out.Get a nice long stretch as you roll out and contract your abs when you pull it back in. If you have an ab wheel, you can use that inplace of a stability ball. This is going to be harder than using astability ball.

Finally, you're going to finish off preferably with a sprint as the last exercise. If you can't do sprinting, you can sprint in place or finish with burpees.

In most cases, although you aren't directly targeting your abdominals, you are still required to brace them which in turn indirectly works your abdominals for a powerfully efficient abdominal workout.

If you want maximum fat burning results, switch from crunches and cardio to the belly fat burning Turbulence Training workouts:

Mistakes with my intermittent fasting

I discoverd a mistake in my intermittent fasting that I hope you can learn from.

I usually fast twice a week and have been following Eat Stop Eat since February. I have seen great results since I started fasting, but I realized a mistake I was making that when corrected, should lead to more fat loss.

So what was I doing wrong? I was eating too much!

I know what you're thinking, if I was fasting, how was I eating too much?? I wasn't eating at all during my 24 hour fast. It's after the fast ended that I was eating too much! I wasn't eating junk, but my meal size was too big and effecting my fat loss.

Eat Stop Eat is based off of weekly calorie counting. So if my daily maintence level (calories at which you will not gain or lose weight) is 2,500 calories, then your weekly maintence calorie level is 17,500 (2,500 x 7).

I usually eat at maintence five days a week and consume 12,500 calories. The other two days of the week I will fast from dinner the night before to dinner the day of. Up until today I would eat a healthy dinner, but it would be quite large, probably 800-1,000 calories.

If I eat a dinner of 1,000 calories two times a week then my weekly calories is now at 14,500 calories. That puts me at a deficet of 3,000 calories which is almost a pound (lb = 3,500 calories). This is also a deficet without any exercise factored in.

BUT if I lower my meals to 400-500 calories after a fast then I can increase my caloric deficet to 4,000 calories, which will help expedite my fat loss!! This may not seem like a big change, but it adds up over time.

Lowering my total calories consumed after I fast will help me get to my ripped six pack abs even faster!

Eat Stop Eat has really helped me lose a lot of fat throughout my weight loss journey and should help even more now that I've correct my post-fast meals. To find out how Eat Stop Eat works (including how your growth hormones increase when you use it) please follow the link below:

Quick Tip & Thurs Workout and Meals - 10/8

Quick Tip: When you get up in the morning make sure that you have at least 2 glasses of water. Why? Would you go to work and not drink anything for the 8 hours you were there? Probably not, but that is what you are doing when you're sleeping so make sure you re-hydrate when you wake up.

If you're like me, you need your morning coffee. Make sure you drink your 2 cups of water first because coffee is a diuretic and will dehydrate you even more!

Thursday's Workout

I have to admit that every time I look at one of Craig's Turbulence Training workouts and think 'this will be a piece of cake,' I'm dead wrong!!

Today I made that mistake yet again!! I did Workout B from TT's Lean and Jacked. This is more of a leg workout and does Craig really try and kill your legs!

Instead of the usual superset, Craig starts you off with one exercise where you're told to use enough weight to get 8 reps. The only difference is that you only get 30 seconds rest between sets!! I always try to use a weight that challenges me so this was rough! But rough in a good way!!

I then continued the workout and did another superset. By this time my legs were burning and I would have been happy going home, but I wasn't done. Craig then throws his 'Kettlebell 500' at you! This was 500 repititions of kettlebell and body weight exercises. All of the exercises were made up of compound movements so your abs were getting hit hard throughout the 500 reps. Oh and I did it with as little rest as possible (that's where the 'Lean' part of the workout comes in!)

I really think that Lean and Jacked is my favorite Turbulence Training workout!

Thurday's Meals

I fasted until 2pm when I had a 3 egg omlette with bell peppers, mushrooms and bison.

At 5pm I had a salad with hard boiled egg and turkey on top with balsomic vinegar dressing.

For dinner I plan to have a small piece of steak with mushrooms, onions and spinach.

Today's Workout and Menu

Here's my meals and workout for today:

Meals:

Breakfast: Blueberries, Strawberries and Walnuts top with fat free milk (this is my healthy substitute for cereal)

Lunch: Omelet - 2 eggs w/ 4 egg whites with half a green bell pepper, mushrooms and onions. Slice of whole wheat toast with natural peanut butter.
Snack: Banana and almonds

Dinner: Chili with a salad. The salad had 2 hard boiled eggs and was topped with a little balsamic vinegar.

Workout:

I didn't have time today to get my Turbulence Training workout in so I did an interval workout around Tabatas. The intervals included exercises that use weights and body weight so you get a resistance workout and cardio workout at once. My goal for this contest is to train like an athlete.

Tabatas: 20seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest. I moved on to the next exercise with minimal rest.

DB Snatch/Clean/Press - 35 LB DB - Did each arm for 3 intervals

Jump Squats - 3 intervals

Push Ups - 3 intervals

Step Ups onto bench - Each leg 3 intervals

10 minutes walking on the treadmill @ 3.5mph at an incline of 5.

It was a very short workout, I finished in around 25 minutes, but it was a great workout. I was drenched in sweat and was really struggling to catch my breath after the Tabata's.

TC6 Entry!

I'm a little bit behind with this post! I started the Turbulence Training Transformation Contest 6 last Wed.

My goal to gain some lean mass paid off during the off time, but I also gained some unwanted fat too! Actually I gained a lot of unwanted fat, but I think it was a good lesson learned. Even though I wanted to gain lean mass, it does not mean that you can eat anything.

I think I took my muscle gain mindset and tricked myself into thinking that I could eat whatever I wanted. I was wrong.

Anyway, here are my picutures and starting stats for Turbulence Training TC6.

Date Started: Wed Sept 16, 2009

Weight: 199lbs
Waist (Belly Button): 34''
Neck: 15.25''
Bi: 13.25''
Bi Flexed: 15.25
Thigh: 22''

5 Tips to be Successful in the Transformation Contest 6

Since I am joing the Transformation Contest 6, I went over some of my 'rules' to have a successful contest. These are just 5 tips and I will share more as I make my through the contest, but they are 5 very important tips that can help you in your start of

1. Start Small/Slow - It most likely has taken you years to put that gut on, so don't expect it to come off in a few short weeks. That being said, start with small changes to your diet. Instead of soda, drink water. Instead of fries, have a salad. The point to making small changes slowly is so that you can make lifestyles changes and not just have short-term diet changes.

Start with Turbulence Training, but go light on the weights the first week! There's no need to be superman your first week back in the gym. Use a lighter weight until you are used to the program. Now I'm not telling you not to push yourself, but you don't need to such a heavy weight were you injure yourself.

2. Plenty of Water - Make sure you drink at least half your body weight (in ounces) of water a day. Staying hydrated is important for your body to recover, plus it will keep you fuller longer! I suggest giving up or limiting you soda intake. You may be drinking diet soda with zero calories, but although you aren't taking in extra calories, you are taking in extra sodium. This can lead to weight gain through water retention! During the contest I will only drink water, coffee, green tea and fat free milk.

3. Eat Plenty of Protein - I usually eat 6 meals a day and try to have a source of protein at each meal. Ideally I'd like to have a source of lean protein like chicken, beef or fish, but any protein source will do. Eggs, nuts, beans and protein shakes are also great ways to make sure you get enough protein. Why plenty of protein? Your body has to burn calories to break down the protein! I try to eat a gram of protein for every pound of body weight.
4. Eat Plenty of Fiber - Fiber helps keep you fuller longer so you will not venture off to the vending machine looking for a Snickers fix! I try to get most of my fiber by eating a vegtable at every meal.

5. Rest!! - Make sure you get plenty of sleep and make sure you give you body time to rest between workouts. A lack of sleep will not let your body recover, and you will see lesser resuls. Lack of rest between workouts can lead to overuse injuries and will also not let your body fully recover for the best results possible.
Hopefully you'll join me in the contest! It is a great investment in your self!!

Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Join Transformation Contest 6

I'm officially starting the Turbulance Training Transformation Contest #6 tomorrow. These last few weeks I've really been slacking on my quest to get ripped and obtain my six pack abs. Tomorrow I change all of that, no more excuses!!

Why I think you should join the contest with me:

1. You are going to lose weight! Even if you make small changes to your diet and perform the Turbulance Training workouts as prescribed, you will see results! With those results you will be happier with what you see in the mirror, will start showing more confidence in yourself, will feel dramatically better, will have more energy for your kids, will see your sex life improve, etc. Get the picture?? Starting small and losing weight little by little can have dramatic results!!

2. The cash prizes!! So not only will you lose weight and feel better, but you have a chance to win $1,000! What makes this even better is that Craig splits the contest into male and female categories and also offers prizes for 2nd and 3rd places!
3. You have built in accountability when you sign up. Most people do not stick to their diet/exercise program when they try to lose weight. Craig has solved this problem by giving you at least 1 month free to TTMembers.com. This is Craig's forum where you can go to talk to other TT Members about your weight lose jourey and ask questions when you get stuck. Personally I like to post my before pictures on the forum. By putting my pictures on the internet and in front of strangers, it forces me to stick to my goals. I wouldn't want to post final pictures with no results with all these people watching, right?
4. A FREE prize for everyone who finishes the contest. As long as you submit before and after photos Craig will give you access to TTMembers.com for 6 months! He usually charges $20 a month for the use of his forums, so you'd be getting a $120 gift just for losing weight!

I actually think TTMembers.com is worth more than the $120. Not only will you have access to hundreds of other TT followers, but you will have access to Craig directly. PLUS you will be able to download Craig's monthly workouts!

5. If you are still hesitant about Turbulance Training, Craig is offering a trial offer. You can sign up for Turbulence Training for $4.95 and try it for 21 days. If you don't like the program, return it, no questions asked!!

If you want to sign up for the Turbulence Training Transformation Contest 6 with me, please click this link. You won't be disappointed!

Get the body of a NFL receiver without the Meat!!

I don't know about you, but I love this time of year!! Its the end of summer and NFL football starts in a couple of weeks. I'm really excited for my fantasy football drafts next week.

Have you ever seen the body of a NFL wide receiver of corner back?? These guys represent what a body should look like! They are cut and muscular. Check out Terrell Owens.

The reason they look so good is because their workouts are perfect for burning fat and building lean muscle. They are constantly doing some form of HIIT from all of the sprinting and are in the weight room multiple times per week. Turbulence Training is a great example of this type of workout for the everyday Joe!

But what about their diets?!? They must eat plenty of lean meats and protein powders, right? I'm sure some of these great athletes do, but there is one future Hall of Famer who does not eat any meat at all. In fact he's a vegan!! Meet the Atlanta Falcon's tight end Tony Gonzalez.

After a bout with Bell's Palsy, a temporary facial paralysis, Tony decided to become a vegan because he believed meat led to more chronic illnesses than a plant based diet. After losing 10lbs and some strength, Tony sought out help for his new diet.

Tony learned how to incorporate fish oils, protein, nuts and whole wheat into his diet. He eventually went on to regain his weight and strength. Having been traded to the Atlanta Falcons this year, Tony is taking his vegan diet to his new team and expecting big things to come this year!

Although I do not follow a veggie lifestyle, I do enjoy 5-6 vegetarian meals a week. I use Kardena Pauza's Veggie Meal Plan's. These meal plans not only have great meals, but smoothies that will help you get your vegetable requirements in for a day. I usually have a smoothie with strawberries and throw in some spinach. The great thing is you can't taste the spinach, but are still getting the nutrients from it!!

Here's the link to the original NY Times article detailing Tony's experience:

6 Pack Abs Call with Vince and Scott!!

After the Transformation Contest #5, I decided to take a week and a half off from the gym and working out, just to rest my body (you should always take 1 week off for 12 straight weeks of work). Since today is my last day off before I go back to my workouts, I decided to join a conference call that discussed how to get ripped six pack abs.

The call was hosted by Vince Delmonte and Scott Colby, both experts in the fitness industry. Vince has 2 great programs: "No Nonsense Muscle Building" and "Your Six Pack Quest." Scott has a new product called "My First Six Pack."

I have been receiving Vince's emails for a while now, so when he said they were offering a free conference about how to lose fat and get six pack abs, I was in!! I am actually planning on buying Vince's products after I am done with Turbulence Training this year.

I have never heard of Scott before, but since Vince was recommending him, I was sure he'd be very knowledgeable.

The call was great, I reaffirmed some things I already knew and also learned a lot. Its great to see how Scott's advice is very similar to Turbulence Training.

Since the call was about getting 6 pack abs, the call was based on fat loss.

Scott said that he never does ab specific exercises like crunches, but instead does high intensity full body workouts (Sound similar to Turbulence Training??). Scott also believes in doing compound exercises to make sure he hits his abs. One of Scott's favorite compound exercises that really hits the abs hard is an overhead squat. This is a basic squat with either a barbell or DB's held straight over your head. It's a lot harder than it sounds, try it!!

Scott's workout sessions are very high in intensity and thus pretty short. 3 days a week he will workout almost in a boot camp like method. He keeps on moving to keep the intensity high so there is no need for long boring cardio.

On the other 3 days of the week (Scott takes one day off during the week), he does HIIT. Scott says he primarily does sprints but like to also use swimming, jumping rope and burpees.

Like Craig from Turbulence Training, Scott also believes in eating an all natural diet. He suggests that instead of relying on the front of a package, to instead read all of the ingredients. If there are a bunch of ingredients, and you can not pronounce most of them, then you do not want to eat it!!

Scott also suggested that in order to get enough fruits and veggies, to have fruit smoothies with some spinach thrown in (Veggie Meal plan anyone? lol)

During the call I managed to get a question in that I think a lot of people wonder about:

"How do you lose the last 10-15lbs of fat to get down below 10% body fat so you can see your 6 pack?"

Scott said it usually comes down to tweaking something small with your diet. He suggested to stop using or cut down on processed carbs. For whole wheat bread, he suggested to check the ingredients because it could be processed. Instead, he suggested Ezekiel Bread, which is all natural. He also suggested instead of whole wheat bread to substitute sweet potatoes and oatmeal for your carbs.

Scott says when he is trying to cut fat, he only has those types of carbs 2 days out of the week.

Vince reminded me that fat is stored energy and just like the fat that I have lost, it will take time to burn. He said patience is key when trying to lose the last 10lbs.

Vince also suggested that you cut all protein shakes and eat normal whole foods because the thermogenics is higher. He also emphasized not to under estimate the little things, especially in your diet!

PS. Scott also is offering his new product My First Six Pack, which is a 16 week coaching product. Scott will coach you week by week to make sure that you are getting the proper info about your diet and exercise in order to see your six pack abs.

Essay:

Essay Just in case my pictures do not do enough justice, let me put it into words how much Turbulence Training has changed my life.

I enlisted myself in TC4 and saw great results. I liked the competition because it kept me accountable. After all, I don’t want to submit before and after pictures with no results. Plus Turbulence Training has become more of a lifestyle for me that I plan to use to get to my ultimate goal of body fat below 10%.

I must admit that TC5 was a lot tougher than the last contest. In TC4 the fat just fell off of me, but now that I was down to my last 10-20 pounds of fat, I knew it would not come off as easy. I was religious with my Turbulence Training workouts and even threw in some fun off day workouts which consisted of hitting the heavy bag, swimming and soccer. The best off day workouts were the long walks with my wife, newborn son and our dog.

My workout programs consisted of the Turbulence Training for Reformed Meatheads, Turbulence Training Hardcore Fat Loss and Turbulence Training for Buff Dudes and Hot Chicks. I followed Craig’s instructions for the workouts very strictly and used my watch to make sure I adhered to the 60 seconds of rest in-between sets. The great part about these workouts is that I was in and out of the gym in 45 minutes or less, or I could even do some of them from home! No long cardio is another great factor of TT. 20 minutes max on the bike or treadmill while doing HIIT cardio was great and effective!!

Now for the hard part, the diet! Actually it wasn’t hard and I wouldn’t consider it a diet either! I plan to follow this for the rest of my life. Basically, I stuck to natural, whole foods and tried to avoid anything out of a box or bag and processed sugars. My diet consists of plenty of fruits, vegetables and lean proteins. I also used Brad Pilon’s Eat-Stop-Eat for the contest and fasted 1-2 days per week.

I lost 12 pounds during this contest and now weigh 182lbs. At first I was not very happy with my results, but when I went and looked back at my starting pictures I was amazed! Wow what a difference! I plan to keep on going until I can see my 6 pack abs. (Please see my other measurements above).

If I had to sum up my success during this transformation, it would be accountability and patience. To see any success you need to be accountable to yourself, especially with your diet. Patience is key because everyone expects to see a 6 pack after a couple of weeks, if not sooner. What you must remember is that it took you years to get fat, so you’re not going to get lean a couple of weeks. Remember this should be a lifestyle change, not some crash diet/exercise program.

Craig thanks again. So far in 2009, I’ve lost 32lbs using Turbulence Training!

Healthy Grilling!!

I know I've been telling you about some great vegetarian meals lately, but today I have a great burger recipe for you. This weekend my brother-in-law visited to see the baby. We had a cookout that included the usually hot dogs and hamburgers. Since I am always interested in eating healthy and only have until Monday to finish the Transformation Contest 5, I made myself some very healthy and tasty Bison burgers (I offered to make them for everyone but nobody was interested, lol).

You can use free range Bison for this recipe or 99% Fat Free ground Turkey Breast.

Bison/Turkey Burger

1lb Bison or Ground Turkey Breast
3/4 cup of finely chopped almonds
1/8 Teaspoon of Sea Salt
1/4 teaspoon of Pepper
2 chopped green onions, including tops
2 egg whites
1 tablespoon of fresh parsley
1 tablespoon of fresh basil
Optional - 1/4 cup of whole grain bread crumbs

Mix together meat, salt, pepper, onions, egg whites, herbs and breadcrumbs. Form into patties (I usually get 4-5 patties for 1lb of meat). Coat patties with with almonds. Grill.

You can also just mix in the almonds in with the meat and herbs.

This is a great healthy recipe for summer grilling!

I promise you ONE thing...

Around the world millions of men and women just like you are wakingup to the harsh reality of factory farmed food and unsafe meat"processing plants".

(Eww, "meat processing plant" is a term that never should have beeninvented!)

Grill for 5 to 8 minutes on each side, oruntil tender. Brush with marinade frequently. Top with cheese during the last 2 minutes of grilling.

And remember, if you don't want to, you don't have to go vegetarianeveryday, but in this day of "agri-business", "factory farming","E.coli outbreaks", and "industrial agriculture pollution", there'sa lot to be said about building a better body without meat.
