A Way to Eat Your Favorite Foods and Still Shed Bodyfat Like Crazy...

Let me get right to the point:

If you thought you had to give up yourfavorite foods in order to shed unwanted bodyfat, then this will be one of the most important letters you ever read.

Two "former fatties" developed a System ofeating that allows you to eat whateveryou like every other day and still loseall-the-weight you want.

No pills. No guilt. Just a dietplan for theREAL WORLD, developed by real people.

If you want to skip ahead, go here --

EVERY OTHER DAY DIET

>>> Most Dietplans Are Too Hard

Most of what you've read about how to shed bodyweight is a lie.
Some 'experts' expect you to believe theyeat chicken and broccoli every night fordinner and rarely if ever cheat.

Right. And I'm the Dalai Lama!

Just as bad, these plans are too difficult for anyone to follow for more than a few weeks.
So when folks like you discover they can eattheir favorite foods every single week andstill shed the weight you should see the look on their faces.

They can't believe it.

Some think they have to take some "superpill" to succeed. Not true!

Others think they will have to spend hours a day in the gym killing themselves. No way!

Here's the truth:

Jon and Jan were both obese. Over the pastfour years, they perfected a System that showsyou how they went from obese to "cover model"fit and still eat their favorite foods.
Not "once a week" either -- they INSIST you eat yummy food frequently and without guilt or worry.

>>> Even better, they never count a single calorie!

See for yourself --

EVERY OTHER DAY DIET

Here's the facts: there is NO SUCH THING as a perfect diet plan.

But thousands of people make billions ofbucks off of selling the idea that there is onlyONE way to eat in order to get lean.

Even worse: these people create dietplansso ridiculously strict that even fitness pros likeJon and Jan can't follow them!

They had to create a plan anyone could follow. Women, men, and even kids.

You should see these pictures! They used Jan's six-year-old daughter Kari to prove a point --
This is so simple a even CHILD can do it!

And you should see their clients...the few whoknow about this System...

They get to eat pizza, burgers, ice cream, and more...and still lose-the-weight!
This is not a pill or a scam...this is scienceapplied to the real world.

The science: you take advantage of the factyour body prefers a change of pace and canrespond by burning ugly fat.

The real world: no one is going to eat saladand tuna every day for the rest of their life inorder to shed bodyfat and feel good again.

Simple, right? Common sense!

You absolutely MUST HAVE a dietplan youcan live with for life.
And that's what this is.

Even better: through our special link-below, you get this new System at **HALF PRICE ** for a limited time only:

EVERY OTHER DAY DIET

That's HALF PRICE just for being on my Preferred Subscriber List. How great is that!
What is this new System called?

>>> Announcing "The Every Other Day Diet!"

Great name, isn't it? Pretty much says it all.

But this isn't just a 'book'. You are supported for an entire year with audios, recipes, success stories, and more.

All for less than the cost of a dinner for two at a cheap restaurant.
That's hard to beat.
Plus you get it at half price.
PLUS you get 10 killer bonuses worth over $500.

Call it a gift for being a loyal reader. Or call it a Holiday Special...whatever you like.
This is a simple plan that you will absolutely love.

It's a System that took years to perfect and is about to take the entire nation by storm.
And you get it first.

A Tip for More Fat Loss and Muscle Growth

I read an interesting article out of the Journal of Science & Medicine in Sport this morning. This tip could help you burn fat faster and even add muscle too!

The study investigated the growth hormone (GH) response to different rest periods during training. 12 healthy trained females participated in the study and were asked to perform lower body resistance exercises. The participants were then assigned different rest intervals of 30 seconds, 60 seconds and 120 seconds.

The study found that the women with the 60 and 120 second rest intervals had a spike in GH after their workouts BUT the women with the 30 second rest intervals had the greatest spike in GH.

So what does this mean?? It means that you should be doing some of your exercises with 30 second rest periods in order to help you get those ripped six pack abs you've always wanted and even gain some muscle.

In my current Turbulence Training workout, Craig has a majority of the exercises done with 60 seconds of rest, but he does have some exercises where there are no super-sets, just 1 exercise that you do with only 30 seconds rest!

Tuesday's Workout and A Great Breakfast Recipe!

I finished up with TT's Lean and Jacked over the weekend. It was a great workout program and I really enjoyed my 4 weeks doing it. I've never done a workout before that has you lifting heavy for one part and doing high repetitions/low rest the other! I will say that Lean and Jacked is named correctly!!

Today I started the newest Turbulence Training workout, TT Fusion 2K9. Since Craig always varies his workout designs to keep your body guessing, I did something today I haven't done in almost 2 months!! HIIT on the treadmill! I have been purposely avoiding the treadmill because of my bad ankle and have been trying to do tabatas as my HIIT. Today I got back on the treadmill and it felt great to do something different!

Oatmeal Pancakes

This recipe is from Tom Venuto's Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle. It is a really healthy breakfast that you can prepare a night or two in advance and stick them in the fridge for breakfast the next morning.

Ingredients:

¾ cup Quaker quick oats or old-fashioned oatmeal
4 egg whites
1/2 apple, diced
1 scoop protein powder
1 Tsp. Cinnamon

Yield: 1 large pancake

Directions:

1.) Put all ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Stir until the mixture has a semi-liquid pancake-batter-like consistency.

2.) Spray some non-stick spray on a frying pan and pour the mixture into the pan.

3.) Cook on medium heat. When one side is lightly browned and solid enough to flip, turn the pancake over with a spatula and cook the other side until lightly browned and firm.

Serving Size: 1 pancake
Calories: 423
Protein: 39.5 g
Carbs: 53.5 g.
Fat: 6 g.

NOTE: This makes a really filling breakfast! I was NOT able to finish 1 whole pancake. My recommendation is to use a less oatmeal so it is not so filling.

This is the Best Investment You Can Make in YOURSELF!!

If you are struggling to transform your body and you don't like going to the gym, then I have amazing news for you from fitness expert, Craig Ballantyne. 5 Tips to be Successful in the Transformation Contest 6

Since I am joing the Transformation Contest 6, I went over some of my 'rules' to have a successful contest. These are just 5 tips and I will share more as I make my through the contest, but they are 5 very important tips that can help you in your start of

1. Start Small/Slow - It most likely has taken you years to put that gut on, so don't expect it to come off in a few short weeks. That being said, start with small changes to your diet. Instead of soda, drink water. Instead of fries, have a salad. The point to making small changes slowly is so that you can make lifestyles changes and not just have short-term diet changes.

Start with Turbulence Training, but go light on the weights the first week! There's no need to be superman your first week back in the gym. Use a lighter weight until you are used to the program. Now I'm not telling you not to push yourself, but you don't need to such a heavy weight were you injure yourself.

2. Plenty of Water - Make sure you drink at least half your body weight (in ounces) of water a day. Staying hydrated is important for your body to recover, plus it will keep you fuller longer! I suggest giving up or limiting you soda intake. You may be drinking diet soda with zero calories, but although you aren't taking in extra calories, you are taking in extra sodium. This can lead to weight gain through water retention! During the contest I will only drink water, coffee, green tea and fat free milk.

3. Eat Plenty of Protein - I usually eat 6 meals a day and try to have a source of protein at each meal. Ideally I'd like to have a source of lean protein like chicken, beef or fish, but any protein source will do. Eggs, nuts, beans and protein shakes are also great ways to make sure you get enough protein. Why plenty of protein? Your body has to burn calories to break down the protein! I try to eat a gram of protein for every pound of body weight.
4. Eat Plenty of Fiber - Fiber helps keep you fuller longer so you will not venture off to the vending machine looking for a Snickers fix! I try to get most of my fiber by eating a vegtable at every meal.

5. Rest!! - Make sure you get plenty of sleep and make sure you give you body time to rest between workouts. A lack of sleep will not let your body recover, and you will see lesser resuls. Lack of rest between workouts can lead to overuse injuries and will also not let your body fully recover for the best results possible.
Hopefully you'll join me in the contest! It is a great investment in your self!!

Get the body of a NFL receiver without the Meat!!

I don't know about you, but I love this time of year!! Its the end of summer and NFL football starts in a couple of weeks. I'm really excited for my fantasy football drafts next week.

Have you ever seen the body of a NFL wide receiver of corner back?? These guys represent what a body should look like! They are cut and muscular. Check out Terrell Owens.

The reason they look so good is because their workouts are perfect for burning fat and building lean muscle. They are constantly doing some form of HIIT from all of the sprinting and are in the weight room multiple times per week. Turbulence Training is a great example of this type of workout for the everyday Joe!

But what about their diets?!? They must eat plenty of lean meats and protein powders, right? I'm sure some of these great athletes do, but there is one future Hall of Famer who does not eat any meat at all. In fact he's a vegan!! Meet the Atlanta Falcon's tight end Tony Gonzalez.

After a bout with Bell's Palsy, a temporary facial paralysis, Tony decided to become a vegan because he believed meat led to more chronic illnesses than a plant based diet. After losing 10lbs and some strength, Tony sought out help for his new diet.

Tony learned how to incorporate fish oils, protein, nuts and whole wheat into his diet. He eventually went on to regain his weight and strength. Having been traded to the Atlanta Falcons this year, Tony is taking his vegan diet to his new team and expecting big things to come this year!

Although I do not follow a veggie lifestyle, I do enjoy 5-6 vegetarian meals a week. I use Kardena Pauza's Veggie Meal Plan's. These meal plans not only have great meals, but smoothies that will help you get your vegetable requirements in for a day. I usually have a smoothie with strawberries and throw in some spinach. The great thing is you can't taste the spinach, but are still getting the nutrients from it!!

Here's the link to the original NY Times article detailing Tony's experience:

Drinking your way fat? 2 Zero Cal Alternatives to Water

During the last month of the Transformation Contest 5 (12 days left) I have really been strict with my diet. I have also been very strict with the liquids I have been drinking. I am only drinking water and 2 cups of black coffee in the morning with Stevia (a zero calorie all natural sweetener).

I have nothing against fruit juice (all natural, of course) or fat free milk, but when you are on a calorie restrictive diet, you really don't want to waste calories on liquids.

For example, 8oz of both orange and apple juice are around 110 calories. If you are on a 2,000 calorie diet, you just wasted almost 6% of your calorie allocation for the day! And that is if you only drink 8oz, which I'm sure many people drink a lot more than 8oz. Personally I would rather have those calories back and consume a lean source of protein so I feel fuller.

I was discussing my concept of wasting calories by consuming calorie filled liquids with a co-worker and she said she couldn't just drink water all day, that it is just too plain. She said she could drink diet soda though.

"NO!!" I shouted at her. Just because diet soda does not have any calories does not make it healthy. You can actually gain weight from the sodium in diet soda! It's called water retention. Sure its not fat, but most people measure their success by of the scale. If your weight goes up, you will surely be discouraged and you may be inclined to binge.

Instead of diet soda, I suggested these 2 alternatives to water:

1. Add Lemons and Limes: Cutting up a lemon or a lime and putting it into your water is a great way to give some taste to plain water. Plus there are studies that show that lemon juice helps with weight loss!

2. Green Tea: When I need a break from water I turn to Green Tea! It is one of the best zero calorie drinks out there and its antioxidants also can assist with weight loss. If you're thinking that you can't drink a hot cup of tea in the afternoon, I agree. That is why I brew a pot at a time and keep a pitcher in my fridge. Nothing is better on a hot summer afternoon than a glass of Iced Green Tea.

I hope this helps show you some ways to add a little variety and still not consume extra calories or sodium from liquids.

PS. I heard from Craig Ballantyne about the Veggie Meal Plans. He sends his apologies, but wanted me to let you know that a more advanced meal plan will be available next Monday at 12pm EST. I will provide more info once I get it!

A 6 Pack Abs Lunch and Musings from the Gym.

I had a very healthy an quick lunch today (thanks to some prep work yesterday). Although I am not a huge fan, I had a pouch of tuna (Isn't as fishy tasting as a can) today. When it come to fish I'd really prefer salmon, tilapia, shrimp or lobster, but my wife has plenty of tuna in the pantry and Jon Benson's Radical Fat Loss Blueprint (see link at the right for your free copy) says I should eat it.

So how did I make it so I liked it? I added veggies!! Last night I cut up a bunch of bell peppers and some green onions so that I could use them while cooking this week. I threw the bell peppers and green onions in with the tuna and mixed all of that with 1 tbsp of mayo (made with olive oil). I then added some balsamic vinegar to totally make sure I got rid of the fishy taste.

Overall it was a meal that was very low in cals but had a decent amount of protein. This is a very quick meal that will really help me get ripped and get to see my 6 pack.

For the vegetarians/vegans out there, I will have a free vegetarian/vegan meal plan for you on Wed. Craig for Turbulence Training has put a new meal plan system together with no meat products and is offering me 1 of the meal plans from his system for free on Wed. Good thing I will be able to share it with you!

Gym Musings

I'm going to add a section to my blog about what I see and hear in the gym, whether it is good or bad or just really odd!

Today I was in the gym and saw this overweight guy go to the Smith machine to do squats. There is no squat rack in my gym so we are forced to use the Smith machine for heavy squats (My gym is kinda like Average Joes from 'Dodgeball', but that story is for another day). This guy proceeds to load up the Smith machine to around 245lbs and I was impressed. Well I was impressed until I saw him perform the squat. He could barely make it halfway down and his thighs were no where near parallel to the ground!

After seeing this, I reminded myself that in order to see the results I wanted that I would have to check my ego at the door. If that means I have to lower a weight so I can do an exercise with proper form, then I will lower the weight. Doing an exercise 'halfway' or without proper form will not get you any results, or not the results you are looking for.

Eat Stop Eat my way to 6 Pack Abs!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I keep saying that a great fat loss diet (ie. healthy lifestyle eating) is the fastest way to 6 pack abs. Friday my eating was totally clean. It was clean because I ate NOTHING!!

I know you are saying that this can't be healthy. Although I was burning calories, I must have been burning muscle, right? Well you're wrong! Brad Pilon has a great book about fasting called Eat Stop Eat.

I'm not going to get into the scientifics of it, but Brad tells us that fasting 1-2 days a week can actually be helpful in fat loss. He states that this will not bring your body into starvation mode, but can actually help with insulin levels and help increase growth hormone in the body. Both of these play key roles in burning fat and muscle growth.

I am personally going to do Eat Stop Eat once per week along with my healthy eating habits the other 6 days a week.

Here are some questions friends have asked me about Eat Stop Eat:

I can't make the 24 hours without eating, how do you do it?

If you time your fasts the right way, you can sleep through a majority of the fast. I started at 7pm Thursday night and ended at 7pm Friday night. I went to bed at 10pm on Thurs night and slept until 7am on Friday morning. That's 9 hours of the fast and I wasn't even awake!!

If I'm fasting that means I can't eat or drink anything?

No, you can drink zero calorie drinks. This means you can have plenty of water, green tea, BLACK coffee, and although I don't recommend it, you can have diet soda.

Won't I get light headed?

I have been doing Eat Stop Eat since January and have yet to feel light headed. I always make sure to keep drinking to avoid this. During my fasting days, I take in at least double the amount of water I normally do. This keeps me from becoming light headed and also keeps me from feeling hungry.

Here is some detail from 24 hour fast.

Thursday at 7pm I finished my dinner and started my fast. I had a couple glasses of water and then went to bed at 10pm.

I awoke at 7am and got ready for work. I drank a glass of water and made a pot of coffee. I had a BLACK cup of coffee and began work.

From 9am -11:30am I was able to do all of my work without any problems or any feeling of being hungry. I continued to drink water during this time period to try and keep myself from feeling hungry.

At 11:30 I had another cup of black coffee to get ready for the gym. I immediately followed this with a glass of water to keep from becoming dehydrated.

12pm - I went to the gym and the fast had NO effect on my workout. I got my workout done in under 45 minutes and it was very intense. I felt no energy lost from fasting at all.

1pm - 5pm. I did my work as usual, constantly sipping on water. I felt no effects from not eating. My mind actually seemed clearer during the afternoon. I did notice that most days after lunch I usually felt like taking a nap. This did not happen today!! My afternoon was a lot more productive because of it.

6pm - With an hour to go, I started to feel a little hungry. To combat this I made myself a cup of green tea and then chugged a cold glass of water. This did the trick!!

7pm - Sat down to a great dinner of chicken breast with spinach and a salad.

So as you can see I made it through the 24 hour fast without any problems. I did this and got a great workout in too. I will have my weight loss for the week posted tomorrow so we will see if fasting helped or not. I do suggest that you go check out Brad's site for Eat Stop Eat. He offers a free newsletter that you can sign-up for to obtain more information on intermittent fasting.

Mother's Day Fat Loss Diet Recipe

Happy Mother's Day to all of the great and wonderful mother's out there!! I hope everyone had a great day!

I was lucky enough that my parents and my little sister drove down for a long weekend from NJ. I was able to get a round of golf in with my father on Friday and Saturday (it was his b-day) and took some time off from the gym since I'm starting the Turbulence Training Transformation Contest 5 tomorrow and wanted to be fresh!

Since it was Mother's Day today and my mother was here and my wife is 37 weeks into her pregnancy, my father and I decided to cook a healthy dinner for everyone. My father cooked Filet Mignon and I made my sweet chili shrimp on cucumbers. It was delicious and very healthy. With a 6 oz filet and 20 shrimp I consumed only 535 calories, 14 g of fat, 3 g of carbs and 80g of protein!!

That is a great fat burning meal! Although it's a bit pricey, it shows you can treat yourself and still eat healthy. I will post the recipe for my sweet chili shrimp at the bottom of this post.

As I stated above, I'm starting the Turbulence Training Transformation Contest 5 tomorrow and I'd love some company!! Not only do you have the chance to win $1,000, but you have the chance to finally lose some of that extra body weight in time for bathing-suit season!! My #1 goal for this competition is to get below 10% body fat. If I can get my body fat fat down that low I will have achieved my goal of 6 pack abs. I will post my entry essay and all of my measurements and weights tomorrow night or Tuesday.

If you'd like more information about the contest please check out the TT Transformation Rules here. You must use a Turbulence Training workout to compete, but I've been using these workouts for almost 5 months now and love it!

If you are wondering how you'll keep motivated during the 12 weeks, there's TTMembers.com. Its a great place to share your successes and bumps in the road with other contestants. This really isn't a competition between members as everyone considers one another family. The best part of TTMembers.com is that you get 3 months free for signing up for Turbulence Training and the Turbulence Training Transformation Contest 5.

If anyone does sign up for the contest, leave a comment and let me know your username at TTMembers.com.

My Sweet Chili Shrimp Recipe:

1 Tbsp. olive oil, virgin

1/4 c. dry white wine
4 Tbsp. sweet chili sauce

Peel the cucumber and slice it in a food slicer or shredder so that the cucumber is in thin, long strips. Just before service, toss with the oil and season with salt and pepper. Sweat the jumbo shrimp with the butter and ginger over medium heat in a large saute pan. Add the wine and chili sauce and swirl until the sauce is combined. Remove from heat. Plate the cucumber "pasta" and place warm shrimp on each one.

This should take 20 minutes, max!!

Quick Workout and Contest Time!!

Since my wife is into her 36 week of pregnancy I did not have time to go to the gym this weekend & I didn't get my 3rd TT workout in this week. Not a problem though!!

My wife is going through the nesting stage of her pregnancy so I was regulated to cleaning everything and anything this weekend (I think I have a couple more weekends of cleaning before this is done.) Since I did not make it to the gym, I did manage to get away from scrubbing the floor and sneak in a workout while my wife was in the shower. Here's what I did.

10 Pullups (I have the Irongym, great investment for $20)

Tabatas:

Body Weight Squats - 20 secs of squatting, 10 seconds holding at the bottom of the squat. Repeat 8 times.

Pushups - 20 seconds of pushups, 10 seconds holding in the top position. Repeat 4 times.

10 more pullups.

4, 2 minute rounds on the heavy bag with 1 minute rest.

I was able to do this workout in about 3o minutes while my wife was showering and got back to scrubbing my floors without her noticing. It was funny because she came downstairs and saw me sweating. She felt bad because she thought I was sweating from scrubbing, little did she know that I just had did a kick-butt workout!

Just a reminder that the Turbulence Training 5th Transformation Contest starts tomorrow!!

What a better way to get motivated, get leaner and have a chance to win a thousand dollars! If that isn't a great investment, I don't know what is. Even if you don't win, the weight loss is reward enough.

This time I will be going even harder than the 4th TT Transformation Contest. I've been slacking these last few weeks with my eating because I've been concentrating on work and the baby, but this contest will provide the motivation I need to achieve my 6 pack abs.

Don't worry, you have until May 26, 2009 to sign up for the contest. I will probably not start the contest for another week or two.

Hydroxycut!!

I'm not sure if everyone has seen this article but it could be a matter of life or death! I'm sure everyone has heard of Hydroxycut. In case you haven't it is a weight loss pill, that boosts your metabolism. I'll admit, I tried it back in college, but I didn't use it for weight loss, just for the energy boost before my workouts.

Today the FDA came out with a warning for everyone to STOP using Hydroxycut as it could possibly lead to death from liver failure (I've posted the link below). I want to obtain my 6 pack abs as much as the next guy, but I will never risk my life to achieve my goal. I seriously doubt it really works anyway.

If you read the back of the bottle the instructions say to take the pills in association with a healthy diet and good exercise program. Well doesn't a healthy diet and good exercise program lead to weight loss to begin with. Rapid fat loss does not come from a magic diet pill.

All you need to do is eat natural unprocessed foods and find a good exercise program (I highly recommend Turbulence Training!) And remember the general principal of weight loss: If your calories used is more than calories consumed, then you will lose weight. The theory of fat loss and getting lean is pretty simple, its the work that you have to put in to get there that is hard!
